Animals in the Amazon
By Kaelie Stainwright
MONKEYS
We saw lots of monkeys in the Amazon. We saw Red Howlers, Squirrel
Monkeys, Pocket Monkeys, Yellow Handed Titi, Night Monkeys, Capuchins, Monk
Saki and Woolly Monkeys.
Woolly Monkey Pocket Monkey Squirrel Monkey
The Red Howlers were swinging through the trees at the lodge and
the Squirrel Monkeys were everywhere in the lodge and in the jungle. The
Capuchins we saw a couple of times and we only saw one Pocket Monkey. We saw the Woolly Monkeys some times
when we were in a canoe. The Night Monkeys were scrambling through the trees
when we were coming back to the lodge from a night walk. The other monkeys I
didn’t see.
This table shows the number of animals in each group that live
together.

BIRDS
We saw lots of birds and their names are Stinky Turkeys, Owl, pigeon, Great Anni, Black
headed Parrot, Wood pecker, Fork-Tailed Flycatcher and Yellow Flycatcher.

SNAKES
We saw a few snakes. They were called Anaconda, Parrot Snake and
an Amazonian Boa.
My favourite one was the Anaconda and we saw it when it was
sleeping on a branch. The Amazonian boa was seen in the night when it was
looking for food. It was trying to get the bird eggs but there weren't any. The
parrot snake was looking for frogs at the lodge but I wasn't there.
